What is Sustainable?

A charrette is an intensive, collaborative process that brings together students, community members and professionals to develop innovative solutions for complex issues. During a week of brainstorming, discussion and expert consultation, the teams (you guys) create a broad range of ideas and solutions to pressing, relevant challenges.

This year we will develop a brief on the general theme: What is Sustainable?
Students will work with the ever-evolving concept of sustainability and the many dilemmas and contradictions you meet when implementing sustainable practices. What IS sustainable really?

Students from various design disciplines are welcome to participate: Architecture, Urban Design, Interior Design, Graphic Design, Visual Communication, Product Design, Digital Design, Web Development, Fashion and Jewelry Design as well as Marketing/Business Development and Concept Development.

As always it is important that the students and lecturers are interested in working across disciplines and learning, listening, and developing outside their own field.

The participation cost will be around €380-400 per student (including workshop fee, accommodation Saturday-Saturday, local transportation, daytime meals etc.).
The KEA Charrette will be offered as an Erasmus BIP project so students can participate with an Erasmus scholarship.
