COLOMBIA, Cali: Summer School on Socioeconomic Opportunity and Inequality

Are you passionate about understanding inequality, social mobility, and socioeconomic opportunity?
Join an international group of researchers and students at the Summer School on Socioeconomic Opportunity and Inequality, hosted by Universidad Icesi (Colombia) in collaboration with the University of Chicago, Georgetown University, and Banco de la República.

This unique programme is designed for PhD students, early-career researchers, and academic staff who want to deepen their knowledge of socioeconomic inequality through an interdisciplinary and research-driven approach.
Participants from all academic disciplines are welcome, provided they have strong quantitative research skills.

The Summer School will be followed by an international academic conference on 27 August 2026, open to the wider academic community.

Scholarship Opportunities

Selected participants will receive a scholarship covering:

  • Participation fee
  • Accommodation (23–26 August)
  • Two meals per day during the programme

Please note that participants are responsible for their own travel costs to and from Cali. Additional accommodation and expenses for attending the conference on 27 August are not included.

Requirements

  • Strong quantitative research skills
  • Minimum English proficiency level: B2
  • Open to applicants from all academic disciplines
